Planning Your Poker Event

An event starts with a client’s idea for a social gathering, charity fundraising idea, business meeting, birthday party or memorial event. The client provides as much information as possible about the event including the number of guests, location, time constraints, fundraising goals, etc. From here, Poker Parties Inc. formulates the best way to organize the event, maximize your guest’s fun and, in the case of fundraising events, maximize the money raised.
(See FAQ for commonly asked questions.)

The Day of the Event

All equipment is delivered to your location and set up by our staff the day of event. Our staff then handles guest/player registration, seat assignments for players (if the event is a tournament format), dealing the cards and running the game.

Live Action Poker Party Format

Another option of play includes live-action games. This is much like a traditional "home game," however in this case it is professionally dealt. One or more tables are setup, predetermined games and limits are offered, and players choose the game(s) and limits they want to play. Our staff handles player seating, chip distribution, chip returns, dealing the games, supervising the games and any decisions involving incorrect play or a violation of the rules.

Ready to Book your Poker Event

You can have poker games or poker tournaments for fun, prizes or money. From small to big, we are capable of handling all your poker party needs. You supply the players and the location; we'll handle the rest.

    Poker Tournament Format

  • Players are registered prior to the scheduled tournament start time. At the start of the tournament, all players are asked to go to their table and seat (table and seat assignment cards are given to players at time of registration). Once all players are seated, we make whatever announcements are needed (i.e. prizes or gifts to be won and/or information about the sponsor, charity or person(s) holding the event.) We then go over some of the general rules for the game being played, how the tournament is going to be run and then we start the tournament.

  • Once the tournament starts, we monitor the tables, combine tables as players are eliminated (elimination type format), and make any decisions that involve incorrect play or a violation of the rules. Depending on the length of the tournament, there may be short breaks for the players to use the facilities, get refreshments or mingle with guests.

  • If the tournament is a “shoot-out” format, we play until we have a winner from each table. (i.e. the person who has won all the chips or, in the case where the qualifying time-period has ended, the person with the most chips from each table) Table winners then advance to the final table.

  • Before the final table is started, announcements are made about how many places receive prizes, gifts, the amount of money raised for charity, etc. This is also a good time to take pictures of the players. It is typical for the eliminated players to stand around the final table and cheer for their favorite player(s). The tournament ends when one player at the final table holds all the chips.
