Q: What equipment do I need for my poker tournament or live game?
A: Poker tables, chips, cards, dealer buttons, seat assignment cards, chairs, cup holders, cut cards, dealer trays, and structure sheets.
Q: Does Poker Parties Inc. provide all the equipment?
A: Yes, everything you'll need, except chairs and lighting. (You can contact a party rental business or an event planner in your area for chairs and lighting for your event.) We find it is best to let the client pick the chairs because everybody has a different option as to what looks good and what does not.
Q: What personnel do I need for my poker tournament or live game?
A: Registration clerks/cashiers, dealers, tournament director, floor staff, and setup personnel.
Q: Do you provide all the staff?
A: Yes, we provide all the staff needed for your poker tournament or live game. We do not, however, provide food and beverage staff or event planning staff.
Q: Are your staff professionals in the gaming industry?
A: Yes, each member of our staff is a past or current employee in the gaming industry. All have very good customer service skills and are friendly and cordial with the players.
Q: What format should I use for my event?
A: That depends on your goals and wants for your event. Each event is different and each person’s needs and wants are different. You tell us what you would like to accomplish and we will recommend a format that best suits your goals.
Q: What format have past clients used for their events?
A: Most clients want a poker tournament. More specifically, they want a “no-limit” Texas hold’em tournaments, just like the one’s they see on TV. Tournaments can be “elimination” or “shoot-out” format (explain????). Some also want the option to offer live-action games for players who have been eliminated early. Some clients want to run two tournaments during the evening, usually 2-4 hours per tournament.
Q: How long does a tournament last?
A: Most of our tournaments are structured to last 2-4 hours. We can structure tournaments to last longer upon request.
Q: What if some quests do not know how to play poker?
A: Each member of our staff is able to help with game instruction and offer quick how-to-play lessons. We can have the new or novice player feeling like a professional player in no time.
Q: Do you have General Liability Insurance?
A: Yes.
Q: Do you have Workers Compensation Insurance?
A: No. All our employees are independent contractors.
Q: Is it legal to have a poker tournament or live game in your home or business?
A: Yes, but you will need to check with your attorney or local jurisdiction for the legal limits for any monetary events.
Q: How much will this cost me?
A: It all depends on your event. Each event is different and each events needs and wants are different. Once we have discussed your event, we will send you a line-by-line estimated invoice and a contract.
Q: Will I have to give you a retainer for my event?
A: Yes.
Q: How much?
A: For all events we require a 50 percent deposit if the event is booked more than two weeks prior to the event. If the event is cancelled more than two weeks prior to the event, the retainer is fully refundable. If cancelled less than two weeks but more that one week prior to the event, only 50 percent is refundable. If cancelled one week on less prior to the event, the retainer is non-refundable. If booked less than two weeks prior to the event, we require a 100 percent retainer. The retainer is needed to book and hold a date for your event.
